Power Generation
80% of the State's electricity supply is generated in the Hunter and 2,786 people are employed in the electricity supply sector.
In the Hunter Region, there are four main generators supplying the National Electricity Market: Macquarie Generation, Eraring Energy and Delta Electricity all are State owned and predominately coal fired. Redbank Power Station is privately owned and operated by Babcock and Brown power.
