Aerospace

The Willliamtown Aerospace Park (WAP) will be a 75-hectare aerospace and technology business park adjacent to Newcastle Airport and RAAF Base Williamtown. Its development will facilitate the next-generation Air Force operational capability expansion and solidify RAAF Base Williamtown as Australia’s premier jet fighter training facility and future home of the Jet Strike Fighter.

A major taxiway upgrade and extension to the existing RAAF Base Williamtown runway will contain infrastructure for in-country facilities for major international prime defence contractors.

WAP will also have precincts with sophisticated security to cater for defence contractors requiring airside access for aircraft maintenance, ground service equipment, aircraft component manufacture, aircraft refuelling, assembly, freight handling and forwarding and general aerospace industry.

Additionally, the support precinct will cater for businesses offering support service to the Aerospace users.

Over WAP’s planned life of 15 years, the future infrastructure investment by developer Hunter Land is expected to exceed $500 million.
