New coal terminal contributes to record trade figures

Newcastle Port has achieved record half year trade results, NSW Treasurer and Minister for Ports and Waterways Eric Roozendaal today announced.
Mr Roozendaal said more than 57.5 million tonnes of imports and exports passed through the port for the six month period July – December 2010.
“This is more than 5.5 million tonnes higher than for the same period in 2009,” he said.
“Last May Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) opened their $1 billion new coal terminal at the Port.
