Tender announced for Dyke Point channel berth refurbishments
Minister for the Hunter and Member for Newcastle, Jodi McKay, today announced the refurbishment of the Channel Berth on Dyke Point would be undertaken by Sydney Marina Contracting.
Ms McKay said Sydney Marina Contracting was selected to undertake the $2.55 million refurbishment that was being funded by the NSW Government.
“Visiting cruise ships bring around $500,000 per visit to the region and refurbishing the channel berth builds on an essential part of the revitalisation of Newcastle’s inner city,” Ms McKay said.
“This berth will provide temporary facilities for cruise ships while the NSW Government works with Newcastle City Council on a permanent Cruise Ship Terminal in the city.”
