Independent air monitoring network secured for the Upper Hunter

An independent, regionally-coordinated air monitoring network will be established in the Upper Hunter as part of a landmark partnership between the NSW Government and the coal and power industries.

Minister for the Hunter Jodi McKay today announced that 13 parties had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish an Upper Hunter Air Quality Monitoring Network.

“This groundbreaking agreement between Government and industry will give the community access to reliable data on dust levels in the Upper Hunter,” Ms McKay said.

“The community has asked for this network and I am pleased we have taken this significant step towards providing it.
