Caves beachside resort officially opened

Minister for Tourism and Minister for the Hunter Jodi McKay today officially opened the Beach Suite Accommodation at Caves Beachside Resort in Lake Macquarie.

Ms McKay said the latest stage of the Caves Beachside Resort development would play an important role in the growth of the local tourism industry.

“Lake Macquarie is one of the fastest growing cities in the Hunter and is fast becoming a tourism hub in the region,” Ms McKay said.

“The opening of this resort will raise the bar for tourism in the region to a place where it has never been before.”

Ms McKay said 736,000 domestic and international visitors travelled to Lake Macquarie injecting more than $175 million into the local economy last year.
