Uni student numbers hit high

The latest University of Newcastle annual report showed more than 30,000 students were enrolled at the University of Newcastle in 2008, marking its biggest student population ever. 17,000 were women and 13,300 were men. The number of international students studying at the university rose to just over 4000, and another 2750 were studying offshore.
