More room to grow in regional NSW

National Party Leader Andrew Stoner is proposing a bigger regional New South Wales under a Liberal National government.

His proposal was announced at the National's state conference in Tamworth over the weekend.

Mr Stoner says he plans to increase the population in regional New South Wales by 470,000 over the next 25 years.

He says he plans to do this by creating jobs and building infrastructure.

"About $1.6 billion on top of already budgeted infrastructure funding for regional New South Wales that would include obviously road, rails, water, hospitals and power," he said.

"Those sorts of infrastructure that would support both population and economic growth."
