Boeing contract creates 100 new jobs
An $800 million contract between Williamtown RAAF base and Boeing was signed on February 2, cementing a five-year deal to develop and maintain the RAAF’s fleet of Wedgetail airborne early warning and control aircraft.
The contract will create 100 high-skilled jobs at Williamtown and Amberley bases to continue improving the aircraft’s surveillance capability as well as for general maintenance of the eventual six-strong fleet.
Two aircraft are expected to be fully operating with the RAAF at Williamtown in March.
