MAINSTREAM Australia may be reluctant to watch Australian movies at the cinema but the solution was to make more films, veteran stage and screen actress Sigrid Thornton said yesterday.

Thornton and writer David Williamson were the marquee guests at this year’s Dungog Film Festival, which finished last night after four days, 194 films, one street parade and lots of celebrity-spotting on Dowling Street.
