Hunter winemakers hoping for dry finish
THE harvest is in full swing for Margan Family Winegrowers at Broke and the chardonnay grapes that have ripened first show all the characteristics that make a fine drop.
Owner and head winemaker Andrew Margan said he and about 12 staff were working hard to get the fruit off the vines while it was in the best condition
"At this time we work around the clock," he said.
Mr Margan said the 8.1 hectares of ripe fruit benefited from excellent conditions, making 2010 a good vintage.
